Texas Hold'em begins with the two players to the left of the dealer posting the small blind and big blind — mandatory bets that seed the pot. Each player is then dealt two private cards (hole cards) that only they can see.
Betting action takes place across four stages: Pre-flop (before any community cards are dealt), Flop (the first three community cards), Turn (the fourth community card), and River (the fifth and final community card). At each stage, players may choose to Check, Bet, Call, Raise, or Fold.
After the River, all remaining players reveal their cards (Showdown) to determine who holds the best hand using any combination of their two hole cards and the five community cards. The player with the best hand wins and takes the entire pot.

Don't play every hand. Strong high pairs (AA, KK, QQ), suited connectors (AKs, AQs) and high cards are your best starting hands. Fold weak hands without hesitation — it saves your money in the long run.
